Thanks for taking a minute to check out some starting information on how to balance being a high-performing athlete, plus all of the aspects of your life that are important to you. The good news is that it can be done!

As part of R.I.S.E., I will offer quarterly interactive personal development webinars on various topics critical to your development as a young athlete.

This book chapter from “20 Secrets to Success for NCAA Student-Athletes”  provides a starting point for thinking about yourself and what is important to you. Since you are a talented, intelligent, excellent person who happens to be an athlete - it will take a concerted effort to put your well-being first as you mature and grow. There are too many instances of athletes that become “Samantha the talented runner” and lose “Samantha the awesome person” along the way.

I have been there and learned that the pressure and expectations you can put on yourself as an athlete are more significant than any external forces or pressure you might face. I fell into this trap as a United States National Diving Team member and 3x NCAA All-American. I lost valuable training and competition time when it became too much to handle. I did have resources to help me out of it, and, as a result, I want to help you become aware of the power within you to thrive as a person and athlete.
